Artist Garden Room

The client was looking to create a versatile entertainment and meditation space within a garden setting, blending social functionality with tranquil retreat elements. Key design considerations included integrating existing features like a concrete slab and adjacent building profiles, while ensuring the space was conducive to both family gatherings and solitary activities like yoga and meditation. The client envisioned a garden room complemented by an extended decking patio to seamlessly connect the indoor and outdoor areas, enhancing the flow and usability of the space for various activities.

Project Breakdown

The client envisioned a garden room that seamlessly integrated with the natural surroundings while offering durability and contemporary appeal and required materials that combined functionality with elegance to create a versatile space for both social gatherings and peaceful retreats.
The design process was a collaborative journey with the clients, who were deeply involved in every decision, ensuring the final outcome perfectly matched their vision. The structure artfully blended various materials to achieve harmony with the environment, emphasising both resilience and visual charm. This approach aimed to deliver a dramatic and modern look, fulfilling the client’s desire for an eye-catching architectural statement.

The Solution

After extensive research, Envirobuild's
Pioneer Granite Composite Cladding
and
Decking
was selected for its sleek aesthetics, low-maintenance, and eco-friendly properties, being made from 90% recycled materials with 100% wind energy. Installed vertically, the cladding accentuated the garden room's height and facilitated water runoff, enhancing durability. The black granite finish helped full the whole design together.
For the extended decking patio, black granite composite decking ensured design consistency and weather resistance. The project also featured a lifted roof above the bar with a raw OSB finish, an angled doorway, a large fixed window for light, and an open pergola structure to soften the space. A bespoke indoor-outdoor bar was created with folding windows and a brushed aluminium bar top, balancing functionality and style .Together, these elements created a cohesive indoor-outdoor feel, ensuring the space could be used comfortably in any weather.
