Coastal Retreat Decking
In Whitstable, a picturesque coastal town in Canterbury, a family sought to transform their outdated concrete patio into a modern and functional outdoor space that would harmonize with their coastal surroundings. Charlotte, a designer from Whitstable View Interiors, spearheaded the design vision for this project. The goal was to create a contemporary decking area that not only enhanced the family's enjoyment of their garden but also complemented the seaside environment.
The Solution
Charlotte led the transformation of an old concrete patio into a modern family retreat. Utilising EnviroBuild's Silver Birch composite decking, the project achieved a natural weathered look that harmonises with the coastal landscape while requiring minimal upkeep. The decking's textured wood grain enhanced both visual appeal and tactile experience, connecting garden areas via a strategic pathway.
Surrounding raised beds filled with coastal-inspired planting softened the space, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Family safety was prioritised with the decking's non-slip surface, ideal for outdoor activities, while its durability suited the demanding coastal climate. A modern pivot door seamlessly integrated the outdoor decking with the indoor kitchen, enhancing flow and creating a unified living environment.
Customer Feedback
"We have waited five years to have a finished garden, and when I was creating how I wanted the space to feel, I love living by the coast and wanted that same feeling of having the ‘Natural weathered’ decking but not wanting the upkeep of wood. "I'm sooo pleased with this decking and can’t wait to show you more. Been very impressed with the quality and just love the colour - Silver Birch."
