Replacing Rotten Timber with a Safe, Stylish Dining Area

After years of weather exposure, the original wooden patio had become structurally unstable and unusable. The homeowner wanted a sustainable solution that matched her eco-friendly values while also delivering timeless elegance. As the space is regularly used for family meals and entertaining, the redesign prioritised safety, comfort, and visual harmony with the surrounding garden.

Silver Birch Explorer Decking for a Refined Dining Terrace

The project used Hyperion Explorer composite decking in Silver Birch, chosen for its cool, contemporary tone and realistic woodgrain finish. The light grey hue complements the garden’s greenery while brightening the outdoor area. Installed by BOA Contractors, the new 50 m² decking area now forms a luxurious dining terrace that’s durable, non-slip, and virtually maintenance-free. A sustainable upgrade that combines beauty with practicality.

"I am so happy with my beautiful EnviroBuild recycled plastic decking in Silver Birch. Wooden decking not only rots but can be slippery and green and that’s not a great garden aesthetic. EnviroBuild decking in the other hand adds a stylish, sustainable and long lasting area in your gardens, creating beautiful spaces to share with the ones we love is so important and we should always remember to buy well and buy once!"

— Lynne Lambourne, Garden Designer
