De Vitre Community Garden Benches
Two acres of waste ground in north Lancashire were donated to the local community to create a community garden and orchard (DeVitre Community Garden). After hard-landscaping the area, planting fruit trees and native plants, seating areas were needed to allow users to best appreciate this area of public green-space.
The Solution
Using different combinations of Manticore Lumber chestnut Islington and Windsor benches, three distinct seating areas were created to allow panoramic views of the garden.
Not only will the benches provide ideal resting areas, the fact that the benches are made from recycled plastic mean that they will never rot or need maintenance. The chestnut colour allows them to appropriately blend with the natural environment so that they are practical but relatively unobtrusive.
Customer Feedback
“One important aspect when creating the garden was to always use environmentally friendly materials whilst not compromising the sustainability of the facilities. The benches are really robust and well constructed but also aesthetically pleasing on the eye. They blend well in a natural environment such as this and being made from recycled plastic also support the 'green' philosophy behind the project.
The fact that they will never need maintenance is an added bonus. All involved in the project were delighted with the practicality, appearance and green-credentials of the benches...they are ideal for projects such as this."
